Infuse 8.4 - Extras, Intros, and Favorites

Extras, deleted scenes, trailers, and more is not work for S00EXX

Can it be fixed?

Custom ‘fanart’ artwork has stopped working for me.

I upload my movie, xml file, and a regular thumbail image as well as a second ‘fanart’ version, and all work but the ‘fanart’. I either get a still from the video, or a blank image.

I’ve checked and recheck all my filenames, and they’re correct.

This is only happening with fanart I’ve uploaded since the recent update, everything before then is working.

Can you check to see if the ‘Prefer Local Artwork’ option is enabled in Infuse > Settings > Metadata & Artwork? This is a new setting added in 8.4.

HI James, yes it is.

The ‘poster sized’ artwork is fine, it’s only the version with the ‘-fanart’ suffix that won’t display.

Hi James, a quick update, I think I’ve solved it, or at least found the culprit.

I’m using Pixelmator for the first time, and I’ve been using the standard export preset to generate the images. Instead I exported the same images manually (although using almost identical settings) and they updated in Infuse immediately.

Very peculiar.

Agree with that point. I generally let Infuse pull metadata from TMDB but I have some shows with local artwork and NFO metadata (specifically shows where I want to use an alternate episode order. Ideally, it’d be great to have the option to select one in Infuse directly). So I was surprised to see those break. I had to look for the Prefer Local Artwork/Metadata toggles and enable them on all my devices, iPhone/iPad/Mac/Apple TV. It would make more sense to have them enabled by default. If someone went out of their way to add local artwork/metadata in their library, it’s probably because they want to use them (and it makes it so Infuse doesn’t need to do the network requests to TMDB).

Hi James, could I ask for some clarification on this? Would it be a bug, then, or intended behavior if a title from Plex (direct mode) with a credit marker or intro marker is all of a sudden also having a ‘Skip Recap’ button pop up from the online database? In your comment above it sounds like because there is a server marker that infuse should not fetch any from the online databases. Plex doesn’t do recap markers so not sure what is meant to happen. Thanks!

For Apple TV is this the button that looks like “<” this? Perhaps I am doing this wrong, but when I press the “<” button on the Apple TV remote during the 3 second delay, it just backs out of the video playback to the Infuse home screen instead of cancelling the auto skip.

Hello,
The extras are not showing up in Infuse.
I use Infuse connected to my Plex server, and the extras (which do appear correctly in Plex) do not appear in Infuse.
Here is my file structure. What am I doing wrong?

Thank you.

Can you send in a report (and email) from your device so we can look further into this?

Ok thanks. Sent.

Is custom artwork supported for extras? I have extras for a TV series, but I can’t seem to figure out how to get it working. Using the same naming convention as for custom artwork for episodes doesn’t work. Maybe I’m doing something wrong? Thanks.

Unfortunately, this is not a supported format. A list of the recommended naming formats can be found in this guide.
