Infuse 8.4.4 — Remote Plex streaming broken for 4K / Dolby Vision / Atmos

Hi,

Since updating to 8.4.4 today, remote playback via Plex is broken for 4K, Dolby Vision and Atmos content.

Setup:

  • Apple TV 4K 3rd gen (Ethernet)

  • NAS with Plex Media Server

  • Viewing remotely

  • Infuse 8.4.4 on Apple TV, iPhone and Mac

Symptoms:

  • Infuse spins indefinitely or does constant start/stop buffering

  • Plex server dashboard shows the stream progressing normally at 10+ Mbps

  • Nothing displays on screen despite data being sent

  • Affects ALL devices simultaneously (Apple TV, iPhone, Mac)

What works:

  • Standard 1080p content (no HDR, no Atmos) plays fine

  • Plex native app on Apple TV streams 4K perfectly on the same connection

  • Everything worked flawlessly for over a year before this update

What I tried:

  • Deleted and re-added Plex source in Infuse

  • Restarted NAS and Plex Media Server

  • Tried all Streaming Cache options (Auto, Memory Only, Limited)

  • Network speed tests confirmed sufficient bandwidth (10-35 Mbps)

This is clearly a regression introduced in 8.4.4 affecting remote playback of high quality content.
