A complete history of past releases can be found here.

Wait. I don’t see an update in the App Store.

It takes a bit of time for an update to be spread to all app servers. Shouldn’t be long.

Only see a solid color background with an icon and a star/heart shape. not like poster.
Do I misunderstand it means? Not for Emby and other media servers?

That’s what the design is currently. We’ll be adding ways to add custom artwork, like what is possible on Apple TV.

  • Added extras for Blu-ray and DVD folders

  • Can you further explain how this is similar or different than in 8.4?

This allows extras to be displayed along with movies which are organized into folders (EG VIDEO_TS and BDMV files).

ISO bluray rip files and menus are not accessible within Infuse, correct?

Blu-ray (and DVD) ISOs can be played in Infuse, but the menus are not supported at this time. Infuse will default to playing the main title straight away when starting playback of these files.

After updating to 8.4.1 almost all my movies disappeared from my library and I am not able to re-add them! :frowning: TV series are not affected.

I give you as much info I can about this bug:

I use Samba shares.
The server is an Asus RT-AX86U router with Asuswrt-Merlin version 3004.388.11. See: link
(I think the Samba version is 3.6 or something smilar, I do not know the exact version number.)
The "Samba protocol version” on the router is set to “SMBv1 + SMBv2”.
The SMB version in Infuse is set to Automatic.
I used this settings with Infuse since several years without any probelms, so the bug is not at Samba side!

I store each movie in separate folders. (I also store TV series in separate folders.) I know this is a bit unusual, but I also do this since several yars with Infuse, without any problems. I also have separate favorite entries for each folder!

I also have diagnotics data for you to check:

CASE 1. (this tries to show the library refresh bug in Infuse 8.4.1)
Environment: Apple TV 3rd gen. (A2843 (128 GB)), tvOS 26.4 (23L243), Infuse Pro 8.4.1 (5591)
Steps:
a.) Restart Apple TV
b.) Start Infuse Pro
c.) Wait for library to refresh
(Now most of my movies are gone, including WALL-E.)
d.) Restoring cloud based backup created at 2026.03.30. 10:54
e.) Start Infuse Pro
(Many films are showing up again at startup!)
f.) Wait for library to refresh
(Now almost all my movies are gone again, including WALL-E.)
Diagnotics code: N9G86

CASE 2. (this adds WALL-E movie successfully on Infuse 8.3.9)
Environment: Apple TV 1st gen. (A1842 (64 GB)), tvOS 26.4 (23L243), Infuse Pro 8.3.9 (5560)
Steps:
1.) Restart Apple TV
2.) Start Infuse Pro
3.) Wait for library to refresh
4.) Adding WALL-E movie to library (creating a favorite from it’s folder)
(THE MOVIE IS ADDED SUCCESSFULLY TO LIBRARY!)
Diagnotics code: AFE0V

CASE 3. (this adds WALL-E movie successfully on Infuse 8.4.0)
Environment: Apple TV 3rd gen. (A2843 (128 GB)), tvOS 26.4 (23L243), Infuse Enterprise 8.4.0 (5582)
Steps:
1.) Restart Apple TV
2.) Start Infuse Pro
3.) Wait for library to refresh
4.) Adding WALL-E movie to library (creating a favorite from it’s folder)
(THE MOVIE IS ADDED SUCCESSFULLY TO LIBRARY!)
Diagnotics code: TARVV

CASE 4. (this fails to add WALL-E movie on Infuse 8.4.1)
Environment: Apple TV 3rd gen. (A2843 (128 GB)), tvOS 26.4 (23L243), Infuse Pro 8.4.1 (5591)
Steps:
1.) Restart Apple TV
2.) Start Infuse Pro
3.) Wait for library to refresh
4.) Adding WALL-E movie to library (creating a favorite from it’s folder)
(THE MOVIE IS NOT ADDED TO LIBRARY! NOTHING HAPPENS. ALSO NO ERROR MESSAGE! The favourite entry is created, but the film in the library does not show up.)
Diagnotics code: PVGTF

So as you can see, I do exactly the same thing and it works on Infuse 8.3.9 and 8.4.0, but does not work on 8.4.1.
I hope you can fix the bug with this info.

I bought Infuse Enterprise just for this reason (because it is still on v8.4.0)!
I also have a yearly subsciption for Infuse Pro.

(Unfortunately, this wasn’t the first time a new Infuse version caused a critical error for me, this is mainly the reason why I kept my older Apple TV and purchased Infuse Enterprise today. This way I have currently 3 different versions on my two Apple TVs…)

Based on your logs, it looks like you may have added separate share connections and/or favorites for each individual movie. Is that right? The error Infuse is getting when attempting to access some of these items is ‘folder not found’.

Typically, you would only want to add one connection and then add a favorite for the main folder which contains your movies and shows. You can of course add multiple favorites (one for each of the movies and TV shows folders) if you want to keep them separate if/when browsing via folders.

You can also try adjusting the SMB version in Infuse to see if this helps with this particular device. Setting this to SMB2 or Legacy can help with some devices which have non-standard SMB impmlementations.

Yes, I updated my original post to be more clear!

I tried to adjust the SMB version setting of Infuse, but that does not help.
And as I wrote, I am using this settings since years without any problems.

I am doing exactly the same thing on 8.3.9, 8.4.0 and 8.4.1.
And it is only not working in 8.4.1! So there is a new bug in 8.4.1.

I am using 8.4.0 (Infuse Enterprise) until you acknowledge and fix this bug…

I do not want to use Infuse in a new way just because there is a new bug in 8.4.1.
I used Infuse 6 and 7 and 8 the same way without problems, until this 8.4.1 version.

Can I help you with more debug info somehow?

I found “Improved SMB performance and reliability” in 8.4.1 changelog,
maybe the bug is related to this change! By the way I had no SMB performance or reliability problems until 8.4.1…

I second that! After updating I can barely access my SMB shares. I tried changing the SMB versions to SMB2, SMB1, SMB3 but no change. When i click on an added folder, it takes about a minute to open the subfolder. Trying to do a Speedtest on a file does not work anymore.
Playing a file does work eventually but it takes about 90 seconds to start.
I also want to emphasize that I did not have any issues before the Update to 8.4.1.

I figured it out! The movie is added to the library, but it is not detected as a Movie, as a TV Series or as Other. It appears nowhere! But the favorite is present and when I select it, the Details page loads with all the correct metadata. And I can play the movie fine. But it does not show up as a movie in my library!
See this diagnostics (I re-downloaded Infuse Pro and cleared all it’s data from the cloud): ATAYJ

This bug is still only present in Infuse Pro 8.4.1!
If I do exactly the same in Infuse Enterprise 8.4.0, the same file is recognised as a movie.
See this diagnostics: TARVV
(File is also recognized in Infuse Pro 8.3.9.)

I don’t know what you did SMB related in version 8.4.1, but please roll it back!
SMB was just fine before and all my movies showed up in my library.

Can you provide a bit more information on how you have these files organized? There were some library scanning changes in 8.4.1 to accommodate more organization structures for extras, so I feel this may be related as it sounds like you have things set up in sort of a non-traditional way.

You can also try adding a favorite for your main folder to see if this allows things to appear in the Library. This is how people typically add shares in Infuse.

Can you send in a quick report from your device and post the code here?

Also, as mentioned above, you can try adjusting the SMB version in Infuse to see if this helps with this particular device. Setting this to SMB2 or Legacy would be worth trying.

Sure! Sent in a diagnostics mail with a detailed problem and debug-steps-taken description. Diagnostics code is 5QEHN, ticket number is #186843.

I tried to add the main folder, but did not help with the problem.

So you are right, the library scanning change causes my problem!
Some movie files are not detected as movies by 8.4.1. Same files work well with 8.3.9 and 8.4.0.

I have 2 brand new examples for this problem, this two movies:

  • Avatar: Fire and Ash (2025)
  • Pretty Lethal (2026)

If I create favorites for them, they get the appropriate metadata, but still are not recognized as movies! So I do not see them in my library at all. Just within the favorite.
Diagnostics code for this: V455D

Same two movies files are properly recognized as movies by 8.3.9 and 8.4.0.
I hope you can find the problem soon with this info!
