I been trying this new “AI Upscaling” and i notice zero difference. Tried with 1080p and 480p vids. Toggling it on and off while playing.
I am using current model Apple TV 4K 128GB and a Samsung 43in 4K QN90C mini-LED tv.
Since the Apple TV does not have a chip that supports Apple intelligence, the current upscaling is very minimal, even nonexistent for some titles as you see. Hopefully, though, a new version of Apple TV will be released that supports it.
Hi James! Could you please clarify where the watched history is pulled from for each profile? Is it pulled through the connected Share (Emby, Plex etc.) or through Trakt? Thank you.
Trying to use the “Add to Links” functionality to enable streaming from iCloud. Unfortunately no such option exists. All software up to date.
Anything I can try to resolve this?
Edit: OK I found it. False alarm.
Where did you end up finding the iCloud share? I’m also mot seeing it when adding a saved share. Also updated to latest on iOS.
This is the step-by-step way to add a link, I don’t know any other way to explain it other than to show you this because it’s not normal file sharing.
I did try these instructions and it did work.
Both support family sharing, one just has legacy pricing. You do not need to switch to the other. We’re working to address a few reports of purchase sharing in 8.2.
We’re looking into this and will have an update soon.
Looking into a few adjustments here.
Yes, if you have separate Plex logins for each user you can link each to a different Apple profile. If you are using Plex ‘Home’ users, then we plan to support these in a future update.
It will depend on the type of streaming connection you have set up.
Emby, Jellyfin, and Plex connections will use the user account on media server for their source of truth. If you are logged into Trakt, then details on the items you watch and/or rate in Infuse will be sent there, but watched history will not be pulled from Trakt.
For all other connections (SMB, NFS, WebDAV, cloud services, etc…) Infuse will use iCloud and/or Trakt to sync watched history and/or ratings.
Thanks for the answer @james.
Yes I do have home users, so I will have to wait.
Do you think it’s possible to add the option to pull the watch history from Trakt for Shares as well?
I cannot get metacritics to show up at all even though it’s enabled. Does this require Library Mode?
I’d much prefer the user score for metacritic. The critic scores are partly pretty off-putting (e.g From Dusk Till Dawn (1996): Critic Score - 48 out of 15(!) reviews; User Score - 7.3 out of 293 reviews; the scale is different for both scores). User scores generally consist of MUCH MORE reviews and better reflect my general view on my movies. Or an option to switch between critic and user scores would be great! ![]()
All family members lost their access to the pro subscription. I have confirmed they all have access to it via subscription sharing, and have access to the pro subscription on other devices; just this new Apple TV update that has broken InFuse for us. Broke it on 5 different Apple TVs. Any suggestions beyon the Family Sharing KB, which doesn’t resolve the issue?
Brutal update as we also lost the link to our PLEX library on all devices; had to set up each device as new (only did one and using PLEX instead, since Family Sharing isn’t working anyway).
Hey everyone ![]()
Just wanted to help clarify the current status of AI upscaling in Infuse 8.2, especially for those using the Apple TV 4K (A15).
While AI upscaling is now technically included in Infuse 8.2, it’s important to understand that the current Apple TV 4K models (with the A15 chip) do not fully support true AI-based upscaling. What you may see today are very subtle or minor improvements, but the real benefits of AI upscaling – like sharper details and cleaner edges – will only be noticeable with upcoming Apple TV models that feature the A16 chip or Apple Silicon (M-series).
In short:
•
Infuse 8.2 enables AI upscaling on paper.
•
A15-based Apple TV hardware has limited support (almost no visible improvement).
•
Full experience will require future hardware (A16 or better).
It’s great to see Firecore getting ahead with this feature, but if you’re not noticing major changes yet, it’s likely due to current hardware limitations – not a bug.
I have updated to infuse 8.2 but the interface on apple tv is not like your picture. Specifically, at the bottom line there is no button (…)
What do you have set for “Details View” in settings?
