Many other minor fixes and improvements
*Note: After upgrading, Infuse will begin displaying additional file specs on the details page for new videos. To update existing videos you can use the ‘Edit Metadata’ option on individual videos or the ‘Clear All Metadata’ option in Infuse > Settings > General to update all videos. These specs are synced through iCloud so only one device needs to be updated.
Another great update, especially the ability to see the bitrate etc in the details page.
But @james when will we be able to choose the subtitles and language in the details page? It’s ridiculous having to press play and then pause to choose the correct subtitles and/or audio! It doesn’t make any sense! It’s a basic feature that should have been part of Infuse a long time ago!
This is something we hope to look into for a future update and you can follow this thread for updates.
Also, keep in mind you can set language preferences for audio and subtitle tracks in the Infuse > Settings > Language menu which may help reduce the need to manually change tracks during playback.
I agree. Being French but always watching my films and series in VO, I always have to check the languages and subtitles because it defaults to forced subtitles.
I’m aware of this thread and I find it strange that it’s still something that isn’t even planned when it’s something so basic that should have been part of Infuse years ago.
That would be great if Infuse could distinguish between European Portuguese and Brazilian Portuguese. But it doesn’t. I’m Portuguese and I have European Portuguese selected in the subtitle settings, but in practice it’s no use, since Infuse doesn’t distinguish between these two variants of the Portuguese language and just plays the first Portuguese subtitle file it finds, be it European or Brazilian.
Yes, this would likely require having to reselect any manually matched titles.
All this info will sync through iCloud though so doing this on one device will sync to others automatically.
This info will also be present at the bottom of the video details page prior to playing a video.
The ‘Refresh Metadata’ option will pull down metadata/artwork updates from TMDB, but it will not update video specs. To refetch codec specs you can use the ‘Clear All Metadata’ option in Settings - or use the Edit Metadata option on individual titles.
@james That extra info is not syncing for me. I cleared all metadata on my iPad, let it finish doing its thing and when I open Infuse on my iPhone that info is not there. I haven’t checked Infuse on my ATV yet. What am I doing wrong?
Edit: just checked on the ATV. Updated Infuse, let it scan and sync with iCloud. Checked old files and the extra info hasn’t synced . New ones do display it though.
Also had issues with iCloud sync. I had to clear metadata on all my devices despite Firecore’s instructions that is not necessary. Running Infuse connected to Jellyfin server.
