Infuse 7.5 ATV: Dolby Vision on LG Oled incorrectly as HDR?

When I play a Dolby Vision file created by iPhone 13 on my LG Oled C9, the TV shows the HDR logo rather than the DV logo. Tried all DV options in settings. It used to work in the previous version. Is this a bug, by design, or did I do something wrong?

Anyone any idea? Thanks!

Could you run the video through mediainfo and post the results here?

What device are you using to play on the LG? ATV, iPhone? What OS version?

Thanks - it is on an AppleTV 4K, latest TvOs (16.3.3).

Would you be able to upload a sample video you are seeing issue with?

Thanks for the sample. Looking into one potential issue here.

Can you confirm which Apple TV 4K model you have (1st, 2nd, or 3rd gen)?

Also, are both Match Content options enabled?

It’s 2nd gen 4K. Both are enabled.

Thanks

This should been resolved in today’s 7.5.1 update.

A post was split to a new topic: Dolby Vision P5 playing as HDR

Unfortunately I see no change, still HDR label for DoVi video from iPhone13. I tried all DoVi settings in Infuse

Are you able to get DoVi output for other content?

Which version of tvOS?

You may need to ensure your LG has the ‘Deep Color’ option enabled for the HDMI port you are using. I was not getting DoVi for some videos (even though the Apple TV would display the menus in DoVi mode) until I enabled this on my G1.

Deep color is on on LG C9
TvOS: 16.4 (same result on 16.3)
Model: A2169
Resolution: 2160p UHD - 60 Hx YCbCr. 4:4:4
I do get DoVi logo when playing other DoVi videos.

Hi James, I think I understand what is happening. Playing a Dolby Vision video recorded on iPhone (60fps) on Infuse on ATV is still showing as HDR instead of Dolby Vision.

However, if I change the framerate of the video from 60fps to 60/1.001fps, it does show up as Dolby Vision on the TV.

Is that something that can be fixed in Infuse, do you know?

Thanks

Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to replicate this here with your sample or other videos shot on iPhone. Everything seems to switch to DoVi, as it should.

It may be related to a mix of TV and/or Apple TV settings. Can you try resetting the Apple TV’s video settings, and then configuring the changes you need to see if this helps?

Thanks James, I figured it out. On the ATV in the screen where you set the screen properties (match rate, etc), there were some modes that were not tested yet, including the 60fps DV mode. After testing it works fine! Thanks for the help!
