Infuse 6 news?

Hi, user of pro versions 4 and 5 here, looking forward to the new release. I don’t mind staying with version 5 for a little longer but since recently two family members bought new iPads (I don’t really want to family share with them) I’d really like to know, when the new release is supposed to arrive. It doesn’t make sense for them to buy the version 5 now since the upgrade would be paid for them and can came any day/week now. So please let me know if we’ll have to wair for days, weeks or even months for the version 6. Thank you.

Lots of folks are getting anxious but the release date is still listed as first quarter of 2019. Keep an eye out here for some of your answers Infuse 6 coming soon! (update: now available!)

If you buy now, you get the upgrade free - where’s the downside?

If you subscribe now (and your subscription is current when V6 is released) you’ll get the update, if you purchase the stand alone (not the subscription version) version of Infuse 5, you’ll still have to purchase V6 the way I understand it.

Just to clarify, anyone using the free version of Infuse (currently listed as Infuse 5 in the App Store) will receive updates for v6, v7, etc… for free. When the update rolls out, Infuse 5 will be renamed to Infuse 6.

Having an active Pro subscription simply means you will have access to Pro features.

Hi, is the first quarter (march 2019, next week) still the expected release date?

This is still a valid thread for your answer Infuse 6 coming soon! (update: now available!)

I waiting with Siri remote in hand too.

Infuse 6 can’t come soon enough for us. We are still using 4 standalone in our household. Will infuse 6 support family sharing with a method other than sharing a trakt account with my mother brother and sister??? It was the only reason I didn’t subscribe to the lifetime discount offer. :’( which was a huge loss to me.

I’m not melodramatic!!! But the sadness is absolute. :frowning: I prayed you’d fix it, I prayed the lifetime subscription discount would someday return for me, and so then things in my world could finally be set right again!

@nomad: According to the “upcoming features” page ( Upcoming Features (updated 4/28/25) ), multi-user profiles are a “planned” feature but apparently not yet “in progress”. Therefore, unfortunately, I highly doubt they’re going to arrive with the next version.

baumi is correct, multi user profiles are still on the roadmap for infuse but my guess and it’s purely a guess is that the major under the hood changes to V6 were written to allow future features to be better implemented and faster so don’t give up hope. I’m waiting for that too so I’m following things pretty closely.

You’re misunderstanding, that’s not what I’m asking about. I’m not requesting nor do I need multi user environment feature because every person has their own iPhone, iPad AppleTV. Sharing iOS devices is too cumbersome in the first place, the only Apple device we share is 1 Apple TV in the living room.

What I am asking for is the ability to share an Infuse Apple AppStore/iTunes subscription within our family WITHOUT being required to use 1 trakt account on every device. Doesn’t that interfere and cause frustration if 3 different people stay signed in to the same trakt account on each of their iPhones? I don’t even want to go there. Am I missing something?

My query was about “family sharing” of infuse AppStore subscription, not multi user environment features.

since iOS review process takes ~8 days the new version should be finished already hopefully
can someone who does have actual information tell us the status?
please don’t just point me to an old thread

I’m getting anxious too. The way I look at it is that with the major under the hood changes with V6 like the all new iCloud based libraries and the revamped playback core Firecore is playing it very safe so we don’t end up changing over to the new iCloud system and then having to revert back and rebuild everything all over only to repeat with a new release again

I’m eager to see the new changes but I sure don’t want to end up trashing everything and starting from square one just to get something quickly. Everything I need is working so things I “want” can wait a few days more if it means better stability.

Cloud changes were implemented in 5.9 already, 4.5 months ago:

“Cloud streaming has been totally revamped in 5.9. We’ve added support for Box, Google Team Drives, and OneDrive for Business along with a massive dose of reliability and speed to allow things to work better than ever before.”

It was announced in november and reconfirmed in march, that version 6 will be released in the first quarter. I really hope they deliver, even if there would be necessary updates later (there always are). I have teo people waiting to buy the standalone pro version since november/december, three including me, but I have the prom4 and pro 5 as well.

Cloud streaming yes, not the new iCloud based libraries. That is a MAJOR change and may be taking some fine tuning.

While they may target a release date it’s still just a target, software development is like the weather forecast vs what falls from the sky can sometimes be very different.

Bought a year subscription hearing they would release infuse 6 first quarter. Actually I bought two subscriptions because I was tired of infuse logging me out of my trakt account and ruining family sharing.

I guess if they release the day before April 1st it’s still accurate, but disappointing.

I’ve been a developer for 20 years and it’s never been like weather forecast. There usually are set dates for reaching each phase of the development. Statistics how many features have been implemented and tested are very strictly watched. If we were about to miss a deadline we usually worked harder and longer and definitely had to communicate with our customers about every delay.

Everything I say about what’s going on with Infuse is strictly speculation since I’m not privy to the inside daily operations.

I just find it interesting that so many are up in arms about being “late” when everything I’ve read says they still haven’t missed their estimated time frame yet.

I haven’t noticed anyone saying they would be late. People just mostly hope they will deliver on time as promised. That’s why we wanted information from someone, who doesn’t have to speculate.
