Infuse 5 Pro unable to access OpenSubtitles but infuse 6 can!

Why my infuse 5 Pro unable to access OpenSubtitles? My internet connection was all good. And I download new infuse 6 to try OpenSubtitles, surprise me it is working on infuse 6. I’m using infuse 5 Pro for a long time that never happened like this before! Is that mean I have to upgrade to infuse 6 pro?

What country are you in?

Some countries make ISPs block access to OpenSubtitles, but in Infuse 6 FireCore implemented a workaround.

This is probably why Infuse 5 isn’t working for you but Infuse 6 is working.

Major changes were made in version 6 and it’s updates to both metadata and subtitle fetching in some regions where they were having issues. Version 5 can’t take advantage of these changes so you’ll probably need to upgrade to version 6.

Also version 6 uses a different API for subtitles which is far more reliable than the legacy version used in 5.

I’m in Australia! Probably I will upgrade to infuse 6. But what’s the difference between 6 and 6 pro?

In a nutshell, the free version has the ability through in app purchases to subscribe to Infuse with all of the Pro features. As long as you keep the subscription active you will get all upgrades including major version updates such as 7, 8, etc at no additional cost. If you purchase the stand alone Infuse 6 Pro you will get all updates to version 6 at no cost but you will have to purchase Infuse 7 Pro at what ever cost it is when it’s released.

Personally, the lifetime subscription was the only choice for me. Then you never have to worry about future subscription payments or buying new version of Pro it’s all covered with the lifetime subscription.

I believe there is still a discount for those who purchased version 5 and you can read about that here Infuse Pro: Purchases, Upgrades, and Family Sharing

I life in Denmark and have been able to download subtitles from Opensubtitles using FC5 for a long time. A couple of weeks ago, I noticed, that this was no longer possible. I have upgraded to FC6 and set the DNS to Google (8.8.8.8 and 8.8.8.4) on both my router and ATV4K. I can now access the subtitle overview page, but when I try to download it, I get the following error message: “An internal error #7 occured. Choose an alternate subtitle package”. However, I get the same error message on all packages.

Is there a known solution to this problem?

Thanks

Yes. See Subs in Denmark

I think your answer is in this currently running thread Subs in Denmark
