Indexing failures on some devices

Hi all, I have had a look through the forum and support but can’t find a similar thing recently. Everything was working absolutely fine, then I changed the hard drive attached to the Mac mini.

Now Infuse pro works on my MacBook, my iMac (which is attached to the hard drive) but not my Apple TV 4K or my iPhone. All are connected on the same network no change, same iCloud no change. Just keep getting a spinning wheel then connection timed out and or indexing failed. Although it shows the last sync timed which is correct and it shows the elders favorited but non of the files in the folders.

When I select a folder on Apple TV I get a spinning wheel and ‘sorry, infuse encountered an error while trying to connect’ al sharing permissions have been checked and are fine, Plex works and syncs not problem so I have been having to use Plex for now.

I have deleted the app and reinstalled it on the devices (iPhone 17 pro max and Apple TV) with no luck. If I go to set up the share on Apple TV or the iPhone it won’t connect, If I set the share up on my MacBook (same network) it does it instantly. (running latest Tahoe, M4)

Any ideas would be helpful so I can avoid having to leave infuse and use Plex, I prefer Infuse.

I know you said that sharing permissions are fine but have you checked the sharing permissions on the new drive by doing a get info and see if Infuse is shown for the new drive?

You may have to delete the shares on the ATV and iPhone and re-add them.

Thanks, yes the sharing Is on for the main folder and the sub folders, for example I have a folder named Media and the Movies / workouts folders that contain the files in there. All of those individually are shared. Plex has picked them up fine, my MacBook has. picked them up fine, I can access the iMac on the network fine, just Infuse on Apple TV will not connect. I have family sharing on, file sharing on, media sharing on etc. I have deleted the shares but I can’t add them on Apple TV I can only add them on my Macbook. The issue seems to be (the one I care about) Apple TV not connecting to the share although it sees the iMac

One other thing to maybe check, if you’re using wifi, make sure the ATV is on the same band as the others. For example, make sure all are on the 2.4 ghz band or all on the 5ghz band. That’s caused some people issues.
