When I watch 4K .mkv media using Infuse, the subtitles are often in the wrong place. The attached image shows placement in Prometheus, using the default vertical alignment setting. By comparison, VLC and Kodi position them correctly.
My setup:
Apple TV 4K
tvOS 11.0 (15J381)
Infuse Pro 5.5.4

Do you know what type of subtitles these are?
Are they embedded or external?

If you have a chance, would you mind running one of the files through MediaInfo and attaching the specs?
