Inconsistent subtitle fetching behaviour

iPhone X
IOS 13.3 (17C54)
Infuse Pro 6.2.5 (2888).

SCENARIO 1: mkv file on network share
File: Dolor.y.Gloria.2019.1080p.NF.WEB-Rip.DDP5.1.HEVC-DDR[EtHD].mkv
Embedded subtitle shows on subtitle settings.
Srt subtitle files in the same folder show on subtitle settings.
ISSUE: When I tap on “Get More…” I get the error message:
«An error ocurred
Unable to locate matching subtitles.
Reload metadata and try again»
See screenshot.

SCENARIO 2: same mkv file now on Google Drive
File: Dolor.y.Gloria.2019.1080p.NF.WEB-Rip.DDP5.1.HEVC-DDR[EtHD].mkv
Embedded subtitle shows on subtitle settings.
There are no srt subtitle files on the same folder in Google Drive.
INCONSISTENCY WITH SCENARIO 1: When I tap Get More, I get access to the subtitle selection (see 2nd screenshot). I’ve downloaded and tested a subtitle and it worked perfectly.
Also, when I navigate to this file on Google Drive, it seems that it’s downloaded the metadata because there’s a little summary about the video that’s not available when I navigate to the same copy of this file on the network share.

QUESTION:
The file on the network share was downloaded from Google Drive, so it’s the same file.
How is it possible that the Google Drive subtitle fetching works correctly but when it’s in the network share that doesn’t work?

SCENARIO 3: another mkv file in network share can fetch subtitles online
File name: Pajaros de verano (2018) @CanalesLocos.mkv
Embedded subtitle shows on subtitle settings.
Srt subtitle files in the same folder show on subtitle settings.
When I tap Get More, I get access to the subtitle selection but there are no subtitles available. I tried English, Spanish, Portuguese.
I guess it’s to do with the file name being used for searching but I don’t know.
INCONSISTENCY WITH SCENARIO 1: At least it let me search, it didn’t give me the error message seen on Scenario 1.

There are some fixes to subtitles in the new release 6.2.6 that may help.

Infuse updated to 6.2.6 overnight while I was sleeping, so I haven’t tried it yet.

But I found a workaround for the issue I reported.
On the Infuse listing of video files, I found out that I could drag the video file name to the left to show a tool bar where there’s a pencil button that took me to a screen where I could manually download the movie’s metadata.
After downloaded, Infuse was able to browse and find subtitles online.

Glad you were able to get it sorted out.

For a bit of background, subtitle fetching will rely on having the correct movie/show metadata for your videos. If, for whatever reason, your videos do not have matched metadata then subtitle fetching will not be available.
