It is difficult to see, but colors are inaccurate in H264/H265 10 bit files (also without HDR).
In the first picture you can see Infuse (on the left) has a slightly different tone than Movist (center) and Quicktime (right). Both Movist and Quicktime reproduce the image accurately.
In this second picture you can see the same issue, with Infuse erroneously dimming the blacks.
I understand that it’s difficult to see but nevertheless Infuse is a little bit inaccurate.

The Infuse HDR color palette has a bit of a lighter bias, whereas QT is a bit darker. If you prefer one over the other, you can switch between them in Infuse > Settings > Playback.

Lighter? To me it seems that Infuse is a bit darker than Quicktime/Movist/Optimus. And I’m already using Apple HDR color palette (but the video are not in HDR, so I don’t know if this matters).
Another example:
@GeremY check this post here, the Apple Palette can only reproduce accurate color when in “HDR video” mode. Not really sure a bug of Mac or Infuse
@james
I just toggled between “P3-1600 nits” and “HDR video (P3-ST 2084)” display mode on my Macbook M1pro to see if it makes any difference.
To my surprise, Apple color pallet in “HDR video (P3-ST 2084)” mode is actually accurate and identical to Quicktime!
Additionally, “Infuse color pallet” also produce different results in “HDR video (P3-ST 2084)” and “P3-1600 nits”. It’s especially noticeable in dark scene.
So it looks like Infuse actually has bug that affect both Infuse & Apple color p…

Unfortunately I have no such option on my MacBook Air.
However I found this thread that can perhaps be helpful to developers for implementing a better Apple color palette:
