A possible improvement could be around having the UI hide after a few seconds when pausing. With the use case of people being away from the screen for long-ish amounts of time.
Could be useful with helping prevent image retention, especially on OLED

Doesn’t your ATV screen saver kick in after a bit? Mine does when we pause for a popcorn break.
Yep, that’s true, the screensaver will kick in. A couples of times when I’ve started playing the movie again before the screensaver has started, the UI ghost has remained for a bit. The default apple UI hides after about 5 secs and seems to work well.
I noticed that one of the tentative features in the upcoming 5.7 version is Live preview scrubbing so maybe they could add your request at the same time since their working on that chunk.
I agree the Infuse folks have put out a great product! That’s why I try and help out with the janitorial services in the forum. 
This was added in the 5.8 update which was released today.
I think this change works really well.
