Can you fix the stuttering for 60hz devices as it’s still unusable for movie watching as it’s juddering bad on most h.264 SDR files
I join the previous requests: can you please fix the stuttering for 60hz devices (like iPad Air M3)? It’s still unusable for H.264 movies (the judder is most noticeable during panning shots). Thanks ![]()
@james any update on this issue on 60Hz iPhones?
I moved your post to a new thread.
I can’t say if there are meaningful optimizations available for 3:2 pulldown on 60Hz devices, but this is a better place to track this.
@james can do do what MPV does with this Smooth-motion interpolation without display-resample · Issue #7674 · mpv-player/mpv · GitHub
Use display-resample or MadVR?

Why not just set Match Frame Rate to ON on the Apple TV settings?
From what I can remember only the 4K models have this. Not everyone has the latest and greatest hardware
besides the author was rather talking about 60Hz devices not the Apple TV’s that have the option to match content ![]()
I’m sorry but the first Apple TV to implement frame rate matching is over 8 years old. If you still have an Apple TV HD it’s time to update.
You’re not getting the point. The whole conversation is about 60Hz devices. So it’s not even about Apple TV. Besides someone maybe doesn’t have money for a new Apple TV ![]()
Infuse judder worse if I put the app in background and open it again the frame rate is lower and inconsistent, Apple built in video player does much better, infuse performance changes if I bring up the ui at anytime the video is playing it judders and drops frames
I totally get the point. It’s just that if you want new features sometimes you’ll need new hardware. That’s all.
Following your chain of thought, I should trash my newly bought iPhone 16e which has a 60Hz display? Its new hardware no? Or should I only use the pro iPhones with infuse?
I wasn’t talking about the display though, only about the SoC.
@james would 60fps upscaling work like what tvs do? Tried svplayer on iOS that does this and fixes all juddering
@james I’ve upgraded to 16 pro and now infuse is the smoothest player with no juddering anymore, all other players still use 3:2 pulldown even at 120hz on iPhone 16 Pro
