IMDB + Rotten Tomato Ratings

Would it be possible to pull the IMDb & RT ratings from a Jellyfin server?

Especially with the new detail page, having IMDB ratings would be incredibly useful. Even if it’s through Jellyfin.

It would also be an improvement if IMDb ratings that are present in local .nfo files are shown with an IMDb logo and not replace the TMDB rating that is fetched additionally.

I tried an app called Fusion on tvOS, and there, you can enter the MDbList API key and get beautiful IMDb and Rotten Tomatoes ratings in a minute! Can this be added to infuse?

There are MDbList API or OMDb API which I’ve used before with KODI, works great!

The app has become much better and now includes all the ratings, and it is continuously adding all the features requested by subscribers.

If you look at OMDB’s terms, they say “The Site is made available to you only for your personal use, and you may not use the Site or any Contributions or Materials in connection with any commercial endeavors.” I’m guessing this will be the same for any other rating scraping app. Of course people can write their own code to connect to Kodi, but Infuse is fully privately coded enterprise and that is why it probably wouldn’t be available. Even if you had your own private key. And the regular IMDb is supposedly extremely expensive.

Could it be implemented so that the ratings are read from the content provider/metadata and then displayed? Infuse would then not really be interfacing with any 3rd party APIs (or would have to pay for them directly).

I personally even have a few other custom sources I’d like to use, so having an universal way of doing so could be incredibly useful.

IMDb rating will not likely be available. This is because integrating IMDb rating into infuse is too expensive to do

I’d be fine with it if Infuse could read the ratings provider from NFOs and display the matching logo (i.e. IMDb, Letterboxd, Rottentomatoes) even if it is not one that Infuse fetches by itself.
