Google search AI answered thus. Are they correct?
Yes, if you try Plex with Infuse, you can easily switch back to using Infuse alone without much difficulty as Infuse functions independently and can access your local media library directly, meaning you can simply disconnect from your Plex server within the Infuse settings and continue using it as a standalone player.
Key points to remember:
• Infuse is a standalone app:
Even when connected to a Plex server, Infuse can still access your local media files directly.
• Easy to switch servers:
Within Infuse settings, you can easily switch between different media servers (like Plex, Emby, or Jellyfin) or simply choose to access your local library only.
• No data loss:
Switching back to Infuse alone does not delete any data or settings from your Plex account.

Is it as easy as setting up a share? I purchased the Plex Pass as “editions” (ability to show multiple editions of a film) is a Plex Pass feature, I think. Infuse handles this very well imo and I’m wondering how Plex will. For some movies (3600 on NAS) I have different versions in same folder, and for others, with “Featurettes” folders (which causes issues), I have them in separate folders. Infuse handles both ways. I don’t want to screw anything up.
I’m also dying to try to filter/sort my foreign films in Plex. I’m torn between the relative simplicity of Infuse and getting a couple more features in Plex. I don’t want to be spending a lot of time curating in Plex.
Lastly, I have an OTA antenna arriving today, and if I can get a network Las Vegas station (I’m in the desert) I may go for the HDHomerun just for the ability to change channels with the Apple TV remote via Plex. I just want one semi-local live station for local news mainly (trying to avoid Paramount or Peacock).
I will not be using Plex for mobile use, only on my LAN at home. I’m looking for a few shared experiences regarding Plex and Infuse. Thanks, and Happy New Year!
