I am from India, I was looking to subscribe to the yearly IAP for this app, how ever realized there is a price difference in the US pricing and the Indian Pricing.
The US price for 1 year is 12.99$, while in India it is 1299 Rs.
12.99$ converted to Indian rupees comes to 1087.95 Rs as per current market exchange rate.
I was expecting regional pricing, even the pricing to the nearest exchange rate would have been ok, why does the same app cost more in INR (rupees) when it gives me the same features that a person from US would get.
Infuse uses the same pricing tier for all countries, but there will still be some variance when directly comparing currencies on any given day as exchange rates and taxes can fluctuate over time. Apple does tend to make adjustments if these move above/below a certain threshold.
Also, something to keep in mind is the US pricing shown in the App Store does not include tax as Apple will calculate this based on the user’s location and add it to the total cost. Tax rates in the US vary widely based on city/state and this can add 10-15% to the total cost.
