I am having trouble with offline metadata/structure

Hello All,

I am new here and new to infuse. That is a lot of new and it is quite possible that I am trying to do the impossible?

My goal is a completely offline instance of infuse for use in a house with no internet.

I have built a USB SSD that has three folders on it: Movies Tv Shows and home Movies. Each show is properly labeled and the sub folders are organized to hold local posters, fanart and .nfo files. Once I favorite those top three folders on the Apple TV they all show up as “Other”. This is not the end of the world for movies and Home Movies but Tv Shows is a hot mess. There is no organization by seasons. I had hoped that my file structure would help infuse know what type of media it was looking at or that the .nfo files would do the same…

I am sure that is am missing something. Either this is not possible and infuse requires a onetime connection to the internet to properly sort this content or… I am clueless

Thanks

Using local metadata to manually organize and group TV episodes is not supported at this time.

Also I believe that an internet connection is needed for required housekeeping in the app.

thanks for the reply.

Can please tell me the best way to do this? Do I turn off local metadata and pull everything from the online databases? Then do I turn that off and turn on prefer local again?

Another question after following the above link. I see that offline movies are supported yet mine end up in other, not in Movies. Does this imply that I am not adding them correctly? my .nfo are being read offline for description and the like but do not seem to be helping the movies end up in the Movie section..
