How to work with MediaPlayer with SMB from an external NAS?

Hi,

 

I got my inhouse NAS and ATV2 to work perfectly with the new iOS and MediaPlayer. Thanks!

However, what ports will be used if i need to stream from my NAS to an external ATV2 with MediaPlayer?
Is SMB using port 445, and will it be enough to port forward this to my NAS?
Or do I need to port forward in both ends?

Should I mention the port when entering the name of the server in settings?

I do use a dyndns, and this woks fine.

The NAS is Synology, btw…

It works!

Port forwarded port 445 and it works like a charm.

Only address in the server info, not port.
