How to Jailbreak a brand new Apple TV 2 with iOS 4.3 and upgrade it to 6.1.2 or an iOS other than 6.1.3 to maintain it untethered? Is iFaith an option?

You cannot update to a release that Apple is no longer signing unless you already have the shsh blobs for the desired release for YOUR ATV2.
Ok then is it possible to untether jailbreak a brand new Apple TV 2 with iOS 4.3? If so, where would I find the instructions to do so?

Yes, 4.3 is untethered. save your SHSH before doing anything else. If you already upgraded to 6.1.3 you are out of luck

I actually experimented with iFaith and DID NOT save my SHSH blobs and upgraded to iOS 6.1.3. Then I used iFaith to see if I could get my Apple TV 2 back to iOS 4.3 and I was successful, again WITHOUT saving my SHSH blobs.
Side note, aside from the Tethered iOS 6.1.3, I enjoy the this interface much more than that of iOS 4.3. But, I suppose its only a matter of time.

I have the same issue as this thread, i got a apple tv 2 with 4.3 firmware. I have saved the shsh blobs via ifaith already. but having issues with the seas0npass untethered jailbreak. When i click the create ipsw it wants to download the newest apple firmware 5.3 which dont want as no jailbreak for that firmware. Am I missing a step, but if you guys could help me out on how to untethered jailbreak my apple tv 2 on 4.3 firmware so it doesnt upgrade to 5.3 that would help alot. thanks !!!
You have to right-click the “create ipsw” and choose 4.3 firmware

I did that and create the custom firmware but when I restore with itunes it gave me error 3194 and I delete the hosts things and keep doing the same error what else can I do help 
Are you using a PC? it gave errors on PC always at firmware 4.3 you have to use a Mac and you will able to jailbreak it easily. iFaith version 1.52 or later for this to work, cause below that version it will only save shsh locally in your pc and will not upload to iFaith server which is a most for SeasonPass to work.

thanks for your answer im using lap tops with windows vista and windows 7 and I wish I can have a mac to try it and I use ifaith 1.59
Yes. I was the guy on that forum and it works perfectly.
You will need to look on to your friends to see if any have a Mac you can use. I just helped another person and he did it.
