HLG video shows artifacts on SDR monitors

Infuse vision: Version 7.3.4 (7.3.4009) macOS

Video parameters:

  • MPGE transport stream TS media
  • HEVC, 3840 x 2160, 10 bit, HDR DD5.1

  • MacBook Pro 13-inch 2018 Intel, macOS 12.0.1 (21A559)
  • MacBook Pro 16-inch 2019 Intel, macOS 12.2.1
issue can be reproduced on both devices

When using Infuse to play a HDR video on an Intel-chip Mac in a SDR display (both built-in and external), the black parts are displayed as white blocks. However, when connected to a HDR monitor (Pro Display XDR in my case), Infuse displays as expected.

On the Apple silicon Mac (MacBook Pro 16-inch 2021), Infuse works correctly on both SDR and HDR monitor.

Thanks. We’ll be looking into this.

Hi, I have the same exact issue on my MBP 2019 with HDR enabled built-in display. I already sent a support request through email with the video attached to your dropbox, but still got no reply and it wasn’t fixed. It’s only happening to few specific HDR 4K videos on my macOS. Hopefully we can get a fix soon.

This has been resolved in today’s 7.3.10 update.

Thanks for your patience.
