I’ve converted few BD (HD 1080p) movies to H.265 (HEVC) using ffmpeg and if I attempt to do any of the operations: FF/REW or jump a chapter, the movie freezes with the turning wheel and no other controls are possible. Only to exit the movie. If I go back to the movie, the same turning wheel is there and I have to kill the app & restart, resume brings me back to the same state: turning wheel.
The only action that works is to start the movie & play/pause. The same happens on iPad also. I have emailed the above to firecore.
Update 1: All HEVC SDR movies I’ve created all have the above issue → trouble/freeze when seeking. H.264 movies don’t exhibit this issue: FF/REW work perfect with previews too.
Update 2: VLC also doesn’t like those, freezes too upon seek… its either hevc, my ffmpeg build and/or using hwaccel.
Update 3: ffmpeg hwaccel using Intel_qsv seems to be the culprit. I used another Mac (M1) & using videotoolbox hwaccel resulted in success, all operations, ff/rew, scrub, skip chapter work ok.

Command used to convert the BD movie, the converted movie is ~ 7Gb, unsure if I can/should upload it. I am trying with a smaller size to see if I can reproduce the issue & then share the smaller video.
