HELP: Can't install programs (.DMG) using Smart Installer

Hi guys - I don’t know what I’m doing wrong. I’m a PC user loving this hacked Apple TV thing.

Anyway, I installed MacOSXUpdCombo10.4.9Intel.dmg using NitoTV’s Smart Installer with no problem (although can’t seem to get keyboards and mice to work, but that’s another story).

I’m trying to install either Firefox (firefox 3.0.5.dmg) or Camino (Camino-1.6.6.dmg), and it won’t work. I’ve put both the DMG files in the Documents directory (even one at a time), and every time I try to run Smart Installer I get the following error message:

COMBO UPDATE IMAGE MISSING
You need an Intel Mac running 10.4.x mounted OR a 10.4.9/10.4.10 combo update in ~/Documents to perform the smart installer

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

The Smart Installer is only for doing the MacOSXComboUpdater and nothing else. To install FireFox or Camino the way you are supposed to do it is open up the DMG file on your Mac and use Fugu or CyberDuck to transfer the application from the DMG straight to the Applications folder inside the frontrow folder. Since you are on a PC, then I found a program called TranMac: http://www.asy.com/scrtm.htm. Download that and open up the DMG file, copy over the FireFox.app or Camino.app folder to you Desktop, and then open up WinSCP and transfer that to the Applications folder that is inside the frontrow folder of the AppleTV. After that you should be able to go to the Applications option of NitoTV and open up FireFox or Camino.
