I use Infuse with my Viture glasses. The glasses themselves are capable of 1000nits but they register only has an SDR display. Infuse will tone map to SDR fine but I was wondering if there was a way to sit the peak nits infuse targets? Obviously most SDR displays are around 100/120 nits calibrated but with the glasses I’d like to set it to 1000 nits to reflect to the true brightness.
Anyway to achieve this?
I don’t think blasting your eyes with a 1000 nits SDR image is good for you
That said, I don’t think this os the Infuse side, as far as I know the tonemapping is made by your server (Plex and the likes)
Infuse actually does the tone mapping. I’m assuming it has a hard coded 200 nits peak. It’d just be nice for that to be user configurable.
Cause it’s hard coded I have to run the glasses at only around 40% brightness. If I could get it to 1000 nits peak white I could run it at 100% and get that HDR experience
This is not possible at this time. Moving to suggestions for now.
