I have not backed up anything prior, I rolled black from 5.0 to 4.2 and jailbroke it. I can update to 4.4.4 untethered somehow? There was another post about this but it said virtually nothing about ability to upgrade to 4.4.4 from 4.4.2 tethered. Thank you
You cannot go to the 4.4.4 untethered firmware unless you already have saved blobs for that release from a previous install of 4.4.4 on your device. I am guessing that is not the case?
correct I dont have them saved, now it is possible to get them from someone else? I assume they are not unique to each individual unit or I am wrong?
Also if there is no solution, may I ask, would it be possible to upgrade to 5.0 when jailbreak comes for that? Just hoping to be able to get an untethered jailbreak one day.
The signatures are device specific unfortunately.
You can go to 5.0 now using the latest SeasoPass if you are prepared to have a tethered jailbreak. If you really need an untethered jailbreak of 5.0 then you will have to wait until one becomes available.
What if i have a brand new with 4.4.2 in, i saved the shsh, is there a way to update it to 4.4.4 or even downgrade it 4.3 or an untethered version?
No - you cannot get to any untethered release that Apple is no longer signing unless you have saved blobs for that release on that device.
Thx waiting for the untethered 5.1 then, just hope that it won’t stay forever tethered like the 4.4.2.
Btw how come a so called general shsh bloobs for 4.4.2 works? There is a topic in several forums about that, i tought shsh were unique.
I must admit I thought they were unique, so I am not at all sure why it sees to have been possible to get onto the 4.4.2 tethered jailbreak using Blobs from another device. I am wondering if it is a side-effect of the fact that it is a tethered jailbreak?
