Hi,
I am trying to figure out the best way to get some kids show DVDs to index into my media player library. SpecificallY I am lookign at Bear in the Big Blue House DVDs. Each of these DVDs have three episodes on them. I used MakeMKV to rip them to MKV files and when they rip - they rip as three individual MKV files. I am wonderign what is the best way to handle that with Media Player. Any suggestions?
It looks like TheTVDB has info for this series (Welcome - TheTVDB.com) so you’ll just want to make sure the enclosing folder is marked as TV Shows.
More info on setting content types can be found here.

ok got it - I was thinking about it differently. Because it was from a DVD collection I was thinking of it more as a movie. I split the MKV into the individual episodes. Then I had to look at the DVD to find the titles of the episodes included on each and match them up against the list from thetvdb to figure out what season and episode number they were. Then I changed the filenames to reflect that. so for instance Bear_in_the_Big_Blue_House_s02e12.mkv.
Then of course I moved the renamed mkv files from my movies folder to my tv folder and then rescanned the content in media player on the apple TV and bingo! now they show up in TV.
SO its just a matter of thinking of box sets or TV shows on DVD differently. THink of them as the individual episodes and rip them as such. and include them as tv instead of movies.
Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.
Great! Glad you got it sorted out. :)
