Green Lines with Mac Version Playback

Hi,

I have come across a specific issue with video playback on a Macbook:

  1. I am using Infuse Version 7.6 (7.6.4523) - the latest one.
  2. I am on a Macbook with Big Sur Version 11.7.9
  3. I am trying to play a number of video trailers from the https://thedigitaltheater.com/ website and the problem is not specific to one video.
  4. You can try this one for example: Gran Turismo trailer: Trailer 1 1920×804 HEVC YUV444 10 bit DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1, AC3 5.1 MKV and this can be downloaded from https://thedigitaltheater.com/gran-turismo-2023/
  5. Please see the attached photo in terms of the green lines that I see when I play this video with Infuse.
  6. Please note that the same video plays fine with the latest version of VLC on the same Macbook.
  7. Please note that the same video file plays fine on my Apple TV.

I hope this can be resolved.

Best wishes and keep up the good work coming.

Which model MacBook do you have?

Are you only seeing issues with HEVC videos, or is it affecting other videos as well?

Are you able to update to a newer version of macOS?

FWIW, I just tested the Grand Turismo trailer here in Infuse 7.6 on an M1 MacBook Pro running macOS 14.0 (23A339) and it plays as expected without any issues.

Dear James,

You are right. I should have mentioned the Mac model too. It is a 2,3 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7 Macbook 13inch with 2,3 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7 processor.

I don’t intent to update yet (intentionally) unless I have to for various reasons. Please also note that the Napoleon trailer ( Trailer 1 1920×804 HEVC YUV422 10 bit DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1, AC3 5.1 MKV) plays fine which is at https://thedigitaltheater.com/napoleon-2023/ in case this is comparable. So, the only difference between the two files is the following:
Gran Turismo HEVC with YUV444 and
Napoleon HEVC with YUV422

Does that help?

Thanks for that extra info!

If you have a second, could you replicate the issue with a YUV444 file and send in a report (and post the 5 digit code here)?

Here is the code: MDB7X

Will take a look. Thanks!
