I’m often downloading new media on my iPhone or iPad to watch while traveling, and I need to delete older watched media to make room.
Current behavior is that it doesn’t free up any space at all. Instead it moves them to “Recently Deleted” where they need to then be actually deleted using the Files app: Creating Folders and Deleting Videos – Firecore Support
This is a huge pain. And there doesn’t seem to be any user reason for it – anything being downloaded is always still available in your main library, so there’s no purpose in preserving it locally “just in case”. To the contrary, the purpose of deleting local copies is always going to be to free up space.
Can this behavior be changed so that deleting a locally downloaded media file actually deletes it and frees up space?
