So i have an FTP server with some movies in the root folder some are there without any folders and some are in individual folders - is there way to select the root as the movie folder?
While inconvenient I can see the movies that are in individual folders - albeit very inconveniently, but I can look at the root movie files at all…
Please let me know if there is something I can do…
Please - I really need an answer - I saw that this was discussed over two years ago and the ability to select root as favorite was supposed to be in subsequent updates - only I can’t figure out how to do it!
Since you asked at closing time on a Friday you may not get an answer right away but I’m sure someone with hands on experience will chime in soon.
I don’t use FTP but from what I’ve been able to glean, not seeing individual files on the root is common and is controlled by the FTP server. Why not put all of your files in a folder called Movies? then you should have no problem with FTP.
When streaming on Apple TV, you will only be able to access files that are present inside one of your favorite folders. In this case, it may make sense to simply move your videos from the root and into.
We may look into the possibility of indexing files placed in the root folder in a future version, but don’t have an ETA for this right now.
