font size for the category list has been made smaller on forum home screen?
You can bump it up in your profile settings under interface. 
maybe so, but it got made smaller without any interaction from me, so why was it made smaller at all?
And that setting is already set to “normal”.
note that i’m referring to the category list font size, not the site-wide font size.
It looks like Discourse may have pushed out some updates which affects how things appear on that page.
It also seems like they’ve added a new category page layout option, which I’ve just enabled.
Take a peek at this and let me know what you think.

that’s pretty ugly to be honest
also, prior to today, clicking on the firecore logo at the top left took you to a page that listed the categories on the left and new posts on the right, this no longer seems to be the case.
Yes, I see what you are saying.
I’ve sent a note to Discourse asking about this. I am not sure if this was an intentional change or a bug.
Discourse has put in a few changes and things appear to be back to normal.
yes the font size has returned back to the previous size.
