Flash Drive works with ATV USB Creator but Not ATVFLASH

I have an 8GB buffalo drive that seems to be workinf well with ATV USB Creator and is easily bootable from ATV running 2.2, however I have followed every step to boot atvflash but nothing works.

I did the following:

Format the drive to mac extended
Run atvflash from image
turn off atv
insert drive
atv turn on normally with no boot from the drive.

Did this many times and also checked if there is a folder called patchstick.

I also used another mac for the install.

What could be wrong here?

There are two things you may want to check.

  1. Make sure you are running the installer directly from the disk image. Do not copy it to your hard drive first.
