For some reason, the titles below fall back to English metadata in Infuse even when Czech translations exist in TMDB.
Examples of problematic titles
TMDB id 424619 - Les Tuche 3
TMDB id 576811 - Jsem děvče s čertem v těle
What is the issue
When I am in the movie detail and I select Metadata with meta language Czech. the titles above show English title and description for some reason. When I search for the exact Czech title, it would find the correct metadata with Czech title and description, but even when I select it, the resulting metadata title and description is still in English.
For most titles, everything works well, but for some titles like the examples above, there is this weird issue. I’ve tried editing the metadata in Infuse on Mac, iPad, iPhone, and AppleTV, but the result was the same, so it does seem to be a deeper issue.
Could you please check what is wrong and fix it? Thank you in advance.
No, there are no XML nor NFO files in both different folders that the files are in. Les Tuche 3 has English embedded metadata, but they are different from TMDB anyway, and Jsem děvče s čertem v těle has only Czech embedded metadata. Also, in Infuse Settings / Language, I have Metadata set to Čeština (Česko). But still, for these titles, it behaves as described above.
But, I seem to find the issue. It looks like there was an issue with Infuse handling stored metadata and changing them under some conditions. I tried to change the metadata once again to Czech and it was still not possible. But!!! When I’ve renamed the file and scanned for changes, Czech metadata were used correctly right away. When I renamed the file back to its original name, it fell back to the stored English metadata, but I was finally able to change it to Czech metadata then.
On top of that, suddenly, I was able to start changing metadata for all the other problematic files!!! It looked like there was some corruption in metadata of a file that resulted in the weird behavior. The issue was there for about a month now but I’ve tried to rename one of the problematic files only now.
I’ll file a suggestion to check integrity/rebuild metadata cache without losing all the metadata - that would definitely help with the issue that I’ve had and might prevent others to have similar weird issues.
