Files won't open from AirPort

This situation happens in the entertainment room of my Apknite company. I have an A1522 AirPort Extreme and a Seagate 4tb drive. When I plug the drive into my Mac I have full access to all the movies on my drive, no issues. When I plug that same drive into my AirPort Extreme and navigate to the folder in my finder a bunch of the files refuses to open.

I also can’t get those same files to open via Infuse on the Apple TV. I thought maybe the files became corrupted but when I plug the drive back into my Mac they’re accessible again.

Does anyone know what I’m doing wrong? Thanks!

Welcome to the forum!

Are you using a username and password to connect to your AirPort?

For AirPort and Time Capsule, the username is ‘admin’ and the password is the main basestation password (or disk sharing password), which may be different than your Wi-Fi password.

Also, just to confirm. Are you able to see the files on the Airport Drive? Are you browsing these via a ‘Favorite’ on the home screen, or are you going through the Settings menu?
