File Naming Styles - All Movies into one folder with .jpg and .nfo?

As I have seen in this post how to organize movies, either into an individual folder, or grouped into folders (with all the metadata)… Metadata 101 – Firecore

I was wondering if something like this should work to use Local Metadata:

  • Pulp Fiction (1994).mkv
  • Pulp Fiction (1994).jpg
  • Pulp Fiction (1994).nfo
  • Inception.avi
  • Inception.jpg
  • Inception.nfo
  • Captain-America-The-Winter-Soldier-2014.mp4
  • Captain-America-The-Winter-Soldier-2014.jpg
  • Captain-America-The-Winter-Soldier-2014.nfo

And another question… in case it works… should I just rename the poster file same as filename, or adding a suffix on it?

  • Pulp Fiction (1994).jpg
  • Pulp Fiction (1994)-poster.jpg

Thanks in advanced.

There’s a guidance.

Thanks for your response Mofa2016, but if you read my post, you will see I was aware of that guidance, since it is the first thing I commented.

That organization should work just fine, and you won’t need to group items into their own folder.

Also, you won’t need to add the extra ‘poster’ text, but if you want to add fanart (the 16x9 artwork for backdrops) you can use something like: Pulp Fiction (1994)-fanart.jpg
