First off – thank you for building and continuously improving Infuse. I’m a long-time user and truly enjoy the experience.
I’ve built my own local media system, which includes a custom tool (“Mediensortierer”) that automatically organizes files and creates proper folder structures. I also run a local web interface that sends email updates to family and friends about new uploads, cinema releases, and upcoming titles – all complete with posters, trailers, and descriptions.
Through the site, users can interact with a Telegram bot (“Alfred”) to request movies or series, subscribe to shows (with notifications for new episodes), prioritize requests, and even get alerts when there are metadata or cover mismatches.
The entire system is based on accurate TMDB IDs, so metadata issues are already solved on my side. I don’t need Infuse to fix or correct anything – the data is already precise, structured, and clean.

My request:
It would be incredibly helpful if Infuse allowed a custom metadata storage location, outside of iCloud – for example, a folder on a mounted cloud drive (like pCloud) or a local network path.
This would allow me to:
• Share one set of verified metadata (XML, JPG) across multiple Infuse users
• Avoid redundant metadata scraping per device
• Ensure that everyone sees exactly the same data, artwork, and titles
• Fully automate and control all metadata updates via my existing system
This would especially benefit multi-user setups, families, and anyone who wants to manage their own metadata instead of relying on iCloud sync per user/device.
