Hey everyone,
I have a PRO subscription that I’m sharing through Apple’s family sharing on another Apple TV.
The Pro subscription is recognized, but whenever my family member attempts to play something with DTS audio, it prompts him to purchase the DTS package. If he goes ahead and tries to buy the DTS package, he receives a network error message. However, the Apple TV is connected to the internet and can download items from the App Store without any problems.
Here’s what we’ve tried so far on his AppleTV:
- Restarting the Apple TV
- Removing the family member’s Apple ID from the Apple TV and then adding it back
- Reinstalling the Infuse app
- Taping the Restore button on subscription settings page inside the app multiple times. It works and recognizes the yearly pro subscription.
Unfortunately, the issue remains unchanged whenever he wants to play something with DTS audio. On the other hand, playing 4K media without DTS audio works perfectly, which indicates that the pro subscription is being recognized correctly, as 4K playback is only available with a subscription. In addition, 4K playback with DTS audio works like a charm on my AppleTV.
I double-checked that both my account sharing the purchase and the family member’s account using the purchase have ‘Purchase Sharing’ enabled in their AppleID settings.
Any ideas on what I could try?
PS: While I’m on the subject, could you explain why the DTS package is included as a separate in-app purchase? I feel it complicates things for family members who aren’t tech-savvy and can be quite confusing, as this topic shows .
