I have a dolby atmos setup of 7.1 channel. normally when I try to play 5.1 Dolby Atmos True HD / 5.1 DTS HD audio movies , atmos gets distributed to my speakers in a normal way henceforth I get dialogues coming out of my Centre Speaker and rest of the audio gets distributed to other speakers as per atmos audio.
But on playing TRUE HD 7.1 Dolby Atmos/ DTS HD audio, the dialogues are coming out of all the front three speakers when playing 7.1 dolby atmos content. TO CORRECT THIS ISSUE, I then have to switch to different dolby atmos audio (within same video in infuse) to 5.1 channel of any language and then reverting back to 7.1 TRUE HD 7.1 Dolby Atmos/ DTS HD audio corrects the issue and dialogues start to play from the centre speaker.
As soon as I SWITCH to other dolby atmos audio i,e, 5.1 Channel audio in infuse , the issue gets CORRECTED.
it happens to every Dolby Atmos Remix movies that I have.
TIP-
one has to play the movie in 7.1 channel audio from the start on infuse, for this issue to occur.
if you start the movie with 5.1 channel first and then go to 7.1 Channel audio then issue wont come as you already solved the issue by swtiching from 5.1 audio to 7.1 audio.
thankyou for the reply.
the apple tv is connected to tv and the hdmi from tv goes to the av receiver.
also the tv audio setting is set to “passthrough”
the atmos audio distribution works great with 5.1 channel audio but not with 7.1 channel. i think it is the issue with Infuse itself because “TO CORRECT THIS ISSUE, I then have to switch to different dolby atmos audio (within same video in infuse) to 5.1 channel of any language and then reverting back to 7.1 TRUE HD 7.1 Dolby Atmos/ DTS HD audio corrects the issue and dialogues start to play from the centre speaker.” (as i mentioned above in the thread)
Apple tv version is - Apple TV 4K 2nd Gen
Also the infuse version installed is the latest one available on apple tv store
Exact same issue here, with certain TrueHD 7.1 movies. If I disable Atmos in the Apple TV settings it fixes the issue and then the dialogue comes out of only the centre speaker again as normal.
thanks for confirming this. @nbrice . I am facing this issue with 7.1 DTS HD along with 7.1 TRUE HD. This is an issue that should not be overlooked. @james Please have a look over this. I’d be grateful.
This issue can be checked with any movie having 7.1 TRUE HD/ DTS HD audio.
The 5.1 DTS HD/TRUE HD audio works great without any issue. The issue prevails with 7.1 DTS HD/TRUE HD audio only.
I hope this issue could be looked at by you sir @James .
this issue deserves to be at priority as it has basic bug for those who have 5.1 or 7.1 channel speakers.
Yes, you guys are absolutely correct about the Audio format playback issue. I have tried playing “BladeRunner 2049” movie in Dolby True HD 7.1 Atmos format. Initially my Bose Sound System read the file as LPCM 2.0 then I switched the audio to Dolby Digital 5.1 and then selected True HD 7.1 again. After doing this the Bose Sound System detected the file as Dolby 5.1 audio. Technically the Apple TV 4K is not capable of True HD pass through directly to the eArc channel on the Smart TV, therefore the infusePro app on Apple TV is typically confused to read the audio file appropriately. Maybe FireCore team can work on this issue and fix it in next releasing update.
