Extra Features for Movies and TV Shows

James, thanks so much for replying to this request. Means a lot! I admit that everyone has their own uses of Infuse. Channels DVR has done a good job of incorporating movie extras in their latest beta (recognizing folders named extras, featurettes, deleted scenes) but have not tacked TV show extras. I am one who loves extras (will search to buy dvd’s on the extras that are packaged with the dvd). I like to rip and watch them with the movie. I definitely hope that we see a beginning of this idea in 2025!!

Adding to this thread so I can finally see the day when infuse adds this feature. I recently added an Emby server so I could access tv show extras within the Infuse client on my Apple TV easily. Was completely shocked to see that the same was not possible for movie extras. So my current solution is to also have the Emby client on my Apple TV, that I use only for watching movie extras. Infuse remains my main client for its ability to passthrough 4K Dolby Vision and Atmos content.

This is really frustrating as this post has so much support, but James never has warmed up to this idea of having a nice way of implementing your ripped extras. What makes it even more frustrating as Plex, Emby, Jellyfin and even Channels (for movie extras) have these capabilities? I really want to move to Infuse entirely and support this project, but it gets frustrating when feature requests such as extras (which has garnered lots of forum support) does not link up with James’ desire for the product’s future.

July 2, 2017 is the date of the first message in this thread.

Luckily, watching extras in Emby is quite good. For me, the video and audio quality of extras is seldom as important as the quality of the main feature. So, I watch the main feature using Infuse and the extras using Emby.

Would I like to watch extras using Infuse? Of course. However, after 8 years, actions speak louder than words and I have trouble believing that extras will be implemented for Infuse. It would be nice, though. In the meantime, Emby is an acceptable workaround for me.

Hilariously, even PM4K managed to add this feature before Infuse. Not sure what I am paying here for, again.

It makes me wonder how much of a dev team is left… AI isn’t going to add this feature.

Maybe we can reach the decade mark. Only 19 months to go!

Woohoo! 10 years here we come!

I’m baffled this hasn’t been taken seriously. I was prepared to purchase a lifetime license and leave Plex, but not having access to all my carefully sorted and named bonus features just isn’t an option.

Don’t forget that you need to click the like button on the first post in this thread to show your support for this suggestion!

It is marked as planned but currently the next item in queue is playback HUD which technically has more likes.

Playback HUD has less than half as many likes as Extras? Other than IMDB/RT ratings, which has been postponed, Extras is at the top of the like-list.

Sorry. I was looking at the wrong thread

Thanks for pointing that out. Just liked the main post! Fingers crossed this gets implemented soon

I would LOVE if Infuse could support extra features for movies and TV shows.

I have so many extra video files on my Plex server from all my HD and UHD Blu-rays. But since I’m exclusively using Infuse as a player for that Plex server now (the player apps made by Plex for iOS/iPadOS/macOS/tvOS are so laughably bad, buggy, and inadequate…), it’s such a shame I don’t have access to the hundreds of extra video files that I painstakingly named and organized.

How I wish Infuse could access and play these files…

It has been on that list before and subsequently removed. I’ll believe it when we see it in a beta!

ATM content of these folders is not displayed by Infuse.

e.g. series_name/season 1/featurettes/file.mkv
