Extension .infuse "This type of content is not supported yet"

Hi,

If I download using Infuse, the file saves as .mkv. In the Files app, if I click the .mkv file, it opens Infuse.

When I share/AirDrop the file, it gets a .infuse extension added. I believe this is a ‘feature’ that allows you to ‘force’ a particular app to open the file, when multiple applications may be available to open it.

However, the file ends up in my Downloads folder on my iPad. And when I click on the file I get an error message saying
“An error occurred loading this content. Sorry, this type of content is not supported yet.”.
I have to manually rename the file and remove the .infuse extension, and then manually move it to the ‘On My iPhone > Infuse’ folder.

Shouldn’t Infuse be smart enough to at least be able to play a file with a .infuse extension?

Have you tried setting the file type of .infuse to use Infuse to open it?

It may be iOS hasn’t made the connection yet for the .infuse extension.

When I click the <video>.mkv.infuse in the Files app, it opens Infuse.
So iOS knows to open Infuse.
Infuse then throws the error “An error occurred loading this content. Sorry, this type of content is not supported yet.”

When I rename the file to <video>.mkv and click the file in the Files app, it also opens Infuse.
This time, the video plays.

Seems like an Infuse issue…

I see, thanks for the clarification! :+1:

I am having the same issue.

It used to work. I haven’t tried it in a long time so I can’t say when it broke. But my experience is the same as the OP’s.
