Exactly which audio and video formats are supported by the free version?

I know that surround sound tracks are not supported by Free version, and I know it needs to be a .mp4 format video to playback on free mode.

The website vaguely says pro is:

Enjoy even more video formats and save yourself from hours and hours of file conversions.
Hear every detail with added support for high-resolution Dolby and DTS-HD audio.

It would be nice to have precise information as to which audio/video codecs and file formats are specifically supported by the free version. I don’t have the free version myself to test stuff. I have Pro so everything plays just fine.

That is just a container. It’s more about the video codec (h265, hevc, av1, etc). mkv is also a container that works in the free version. Unfortunately, I don’t know which ones are free or not. I believe I have used handbrake to convert movies to H264 and HEVC (H265) with an AAC stereo track to work for the free version
