Embedded vs Local Metadata

I am using this ‘Apple TV (2nd Gen) + Infuse’ in a house that does NOT have internet, so I have Metadata Fetching OFF & Embedded Metadata ON.

Most of my videos are MP4, so I have the (convenient) option to use Subler to embed my MP4’s with meta tags & artwork.

I am wondering if it is generally faster to embed MP4’s with all of their info & artwork… Or is it faster to provide an .xml file + local image files alongside the original video file…?

Everything is happning locally (no fetching), so I am interested in using whichever is the fastest method.

@James — is this forum still running? I realize this model is out of date, but I still use it at our vacation home, so I would really like to figure out a few of the issues I’m having…
