E: dpkg was interrupted, you must manually run 'dpkg --configure -a' to correct the problem.

Hi
I have the same problem after installing Xbmc is showing update and Xbmc icon is not there

I tried re-run atv flash and then reinstall xbmc and it show me installation finish but xbmc is still not there and when I’m going in maintenance it show update

I’m running on 5.3

everything else installs just fine, and the initial xbmc does install but no icon in menu, udating it from

maintenance works but it actually doesnt update it and no icon in menu.

tried reinstallin FlashBlack , didnt fix it
is there a way to manually add the icon ?

Edit:
Kodi installs from cli and shows icon in menu, alssow workin , but afaik one would prefer the gotham release ?

Edit:
can install xbmc 13.2 manualy via cli
wget http://mirrors.xbmc.org/apt/atv2/deb/org.xbmc.xbmc-atv2_13.2-0_iphoneos-arm.deb
dpkg -i org.xbmc.xbmc-atv2_13.2-0_iphoneos-arm.deb
wget http://mirrors.xbmc.org/apt/atv2/deb/org.xbmc.xbmc-seatbeltunlock_1.0-5_iphoneos-arm.deb
dpkg -i org.xbmc.xbmc-seatbeltunlock_1.0-5_iphoneos-arm.deb

and now it shows in menu , but trying to start just brings me back to frontpage off ATV2

Delete all the files in /var/lib/dpkg/updates worked for me as well. I had difficulty logging in through terminal with ssh root@myipaddress with alpine. I think my certificate was messed up. So I downloaded a different ssh program and it worked fine.

I haven’t tried the deleting files method but, i know if you connect to your apple TV through terminal (or similar) you can just fund the command “dpkg --configure -a” and then all works again
to connect to apple to go to terminal and type ssh root@APPLE-TV-IP-ADDRESS
obviously use whatever the IP is of your apple tv currently on your own network.

Hi I’m very new to this and have managed to jailbreak, flash atv2 & install Kodi but I’m getting this E:dpkg was interrupted etc. Where are the files you refer to located? Are they on atv2 or my Mac? Sorry if the question is ridiculously simple but I don’t know where to look. I also noticed that iOS Yosemite doesn’t allow me to edit my hosts file anymore for ssh access which is blocked. Hmmm ! Any help, please? Thanks

Hi jlfb59

Try using cyber duck
open a connection
enter in the ip address of your apple tv 2 found in settings>general>network>ip address
port 22
user: root
password: alpine
then click allow on the pop ups and bam you’re in then just navigate to the folder

Good luck

Thanks … I’ll give it a go but last time I tried this I couldn’t link into the IP address (Yosemite problem)

You have to use a ssh/ffp program!

CYBERDUCK is the software

Any further help would be much appreciated.

Did you select SFTP (instead of the default FTP) from the CyberDuck dropdown menu?

Many thanks … worked like a dream! Deleted files and now I need to work out how to load tvaddons etc. Thanks again.
