DV not working on video but works in plex

Hey,

I have this movie where played on infuse it doesn’t work as DV but HDR works while the same file played over at plex it does work as DV. I do get the proper icon at the right corner saying it’s DV playing while in plex but over at infuse it’s HDR.

Any ideas while apple tv 4k and infuse doesn’t detect it as DV?

HDR format : Dolby Vision, Version 1.0, dvhe.07.06

Infuse requires DV profile 5. This one is 7.

I believe that Plex is playing a little hocus pocus and not really doing DV but causing the display to show DV when it’s actually HDR.

I see so the both files are profile 7 which is why infuse isn’t playing them in DV. Is this something that infuse is going to support in future?

This is a limitation set by Apple so if Apple opens up things for additional profiles I’m sure Infuse will follow but for now this is what we can use.

Again, what you’re seeing in Plex is not real DV, it’s HDR with a false DV badge being displayed.

Also, if you’re interested there’s a lengthy thread discussing this that has many good nuggets of info on the DV situation.
