Dolby Vision titles from Emby & Jellyfin missing DV badge in Infuse

Does anyone know if this issue is fixed in Infuse 8?

Nope

How hard can it be to fix this issue?

Dolby Atmos (EAC3-JOC) is also not properly reported, it just says Dolby Digital Plus. So basically any Dolby Vision + Dolby Atmos titles are displayed as HDR + Dolby Digital Plus.

This used to be the Emby´s fault, which didn’t show anything in DV and Atmos. Now Emby shows DV and Atmos files correctly, so now it´s Infuse´s fault. It´s been 7 months since Emby fixed this, but no one at Infuse seems to care.

@james any news about this?

hello, wonder if this is on the roadmap now as jellyfin now reads the mediainfo correctly from the files and recognizes the difference now between DV profile version and HDR.

Just posted a topic for help and found this, exactly the same problem I’m having.

badly they don’t seem to be responding to this. ::

Is this so hard to fix?

No need for snappiness. Road maps are made. They’ll get to it when time permits. It’s also the holidays!

视频格式显示不正确,杜比视界在infuse上却显示成HDR格式

Mod edit for translation:

The video format is not displayed correctly, Dolby Vision is displayed as HDR format on infuse

If you initiate playback, does it play in Dolby vision? If not, that would be why it only shows HDR

Yes, it will be played in Dolby Vision format, but Dolby Vision will be displayed as HDR. Not only this video, but all Dolby Vision formats will be displayed in this way.

Emby and Jellyfin only recently started being able to display information about Dolby Vision, and this requires some special handling in Infuse.

This is something we have on our radar to add in an upcoming version.

Note: This only affects the metadata tags shown in Infuse. The actual playback will be in Dolby Vision, as long as it’s a Profile 5 or Profile 8 video.

You call 11 months “recently”?

Hi guys

I have some movies in Dolby Vision 8.1, which are labeled in Infuse as HDR, but when I play them with Infuse 8.0.8 (2nd gen Apple TV 4K) on my LG G2 - the TV reports Dolby Vision.

So Infuse can actually play the DV movies, but incorrectly labels them only as HDR in the UI.

I’m happy it works, but guess it’s a bug of some sort?

Cheers

Do you use an Emby or Jellyfin server?

You are correct, sir.

If I access them through Emby they’re labeled as HDR, but using the native Infuse library they’re labeled as DV.

Why is that? Is it a known issue?

It is. It´s an issue with Infuse.
