Dolby Vision Profile 5 MKV on Emby

I have several Dolby Vision Profile 5 MKVs accessed through an Emby server. All of these files are shown by Infuse as HDR, but they play “correctly”, as in they don’t look like I’m trying to play a DV file in an unsupported player where the colors are wrong. None of these files show an HDR10 fallback layer in MediaInfo. When remuxed to MP4 and played through Emby or played from a local folder as MKV, Infuse marks them as DV and they don’t appear to change in playback appearance. Is this a glitch in Infuse’s labelling system or is something different actually going on behind the scenes?

MediaInfo for one MKV marked as DV locally, but HDR on Emby:

Has anyone been able to look into this yet?

Infuse will rely on the specs provided by Emby for displaying details in the UI. Playback will always be correct, regardless of the specs shown by Infuse.

If you access these files directly via SMB, NFS, FTP, etc… then you would be able to see the correct specs in Infuse.

This is an issue with Emby, that the devs are looking in to:
