Dolby Vision Media Improper Seeking

Media with Dolby Vision does not always jump properly when using the +/- 10 seconds actions on iOS or tvOS. Instead of jumping forward 10 seconds, I sometimes see it go right back to the original spot, or jump randomly between 0-10 seconds. This is a frequent occurrence for me on both iOS and tvOS. I tested while using HEVC at 1080p and 4K, and I believe only files with Dolby Vision are affected. Attached is an example of what I see.

I noticed this also. I would skip and it would look like it was going to skip 10 seconds, but falls back to the same spot. Also sometimes hitting skip once, or hitting it too quickly, changes it to a fast forward. This normally only happens at the beginning of the video.

I am using an older first gen Apple 4K if that helps.

I have the same problem. There is a post related to this problem already. It is a known issue and have been reported long time ago but it is still not fixed

I’m using Emby and I’ve encountered the same issue. When I drag the progress bar to a specific time, Infuse always jumps to a few seconds after that time, which makes the auto-skip intro experience really bad. For example, if the intro is set to skip at 8s, Infuse will jump to 5s.

I’m using someone else’s Emby and can’t upload files. I think this obvious bug can be reproduced just by finding a DV file. I asked other users, and they all reported experiencing the same issue.

Ok that’s fine. Could you try to ask the emby owner to upload a sample file. So they James can look at the issue
