So I was messing around on my mac and i found out that you can play atmos audio if the audio is passed through directly to soundbar instead of being mirrored from screen. Let me clear it up when i used Apple TV app I got Dolby Atmos working fine and i saw that it doesn’t mirror audio when it does that instead it plays video on mac and passes the audio directly but on Infuse we have to mirror the audio to get the audio working on soundbar. if somehow you can find a solution for audio pass through like Apple TV app does it would help a lot. added some screenshot below showing audio pass through and screen mirror audio.
like adding an option for external audio device setting for pass through.
I’m going to try this one, NÖRDIC 8K HDMI 2.1 eARC/ARC Soundbar Extractor – Nördic
wait wait, you don’t need this either. i just did was directly connected to HDMI port of soundbar and in Apple TV it was able to output Dolby Atmos (soundbar shows that sign). no need of extra equipment. you can play Severance EP 1 its free on Apple TV for testing.
That’s odd, you only have one hdmi port in AppleTV. How do you get the image to your TV? Sonos Arc definitely don’t pass any video out. So with ATV and Sonos Arc you have to pass the HDMI to the TV and then use the ARC or eARC out to Sonos. My LG doesn’t have eARC so I would not get the full Atmos experience in my Sonos system. This device arrived yesterday and it was a huge upgrade as it separates the signal to the TV and Soundbar. Image gous to the TV, eARC sound goes to the soundbar.

you are talking about ATV i was talking about Mac. for ATV it really great device there was another device like that which i wanted to try long ago but didn’t bother to buy as my Soundbar is only 3.1.2 so i don’t get full surround out of it.
