Does ATV flash (black) support 5.1 audio tracks?

Hi everyone,

First post here…

I did some reading… I can see many posts regarding issue of 5.1 tracks contained within video files. My question is, does atv flash support 5.1 audio files (audio only) such as with extension .ac3, .dts etc. I tried playing these files from my NAS. But the media player doesnt recognise these files. When I select the folder containing these files, it shows there is no files. Under ATV flash’s features, it does list .ac3 in the supported audio files. But looks like it will only play if its part of a video file, with extension .avi, .mkv etc.

Does anyone know how to play pure audio files with 5.1 tracks (.ac3, .dts etc) with ATV flash? Is this possible at all…? I cannot see why not.

AC3 and DTS sound are supported, but I’m not sure about actual .ac3 or .dts files.

Do you have a sample file (or two) you could send in?

Thanks for reply…

Here is a file for you…

did u test this?

Got it. We’ll see what we can do.

Hope you are working on this.

Just realised that ATV flash does not support multi-channel FLAC and wav files as well. They do work when they are just 2 channel stereo. You can download some sample files for testing from this website.

It would be great if these files would be supported. Expecting an update soon

Thanks for the link. We’ll see what we can do.

You are welcome

Any progress on this area…?  =O
