Does 5.0 update wipe all ATV settings?

Basic question… is only way to update to 5.0 software mean a restore and so lose all current settings?

Yes.

However if you have ATV Falsh (black) already installed, then there is an option to back up the settings in the Maintenance menu.  If you use this, then after updating to 5.0 and re-installing ATV Flash (black) you can use the complementary option to restore the saved settings.

I do already have it installed so will try that, thanks!

Stupid question number 2… I presume I don’t need to run Seas0n Pass update to update to 5.0 as this will wipe ATV?

Not quite sure I understand the question ?

You will need to use the latest Seasonpass if you want to jailbreak the 5.0 firmware.    Note that this jailbreak is tehtered so you may decide to wait until an untethered jailbreak is available for the 5.0 firmware.

Sorry for confusion

I was wondering if I have to run Seas0n Pass to enable me to upgrade to 5.0 doesn’t this mean I lose backup settings on ATV?

An untethered update would avoid this?

The backup opyion in the FireCore Maintenance menu does the backup (and restore) from the cloud (internet) so your backups survive a complete reset as part of a new jailbreak.
