Do I need to update 4.4.4 to 5.3 before jailbreaking?

Hi Guys

I just bought a new apple tv 2 never opened. It currently has 4.4.4 on it. When running seas0npass will it automatically be updated to 5.3? Or do I have to update it to 5.3 somehow? Is 5.3 still being signed by apple if thats the case? Or should i just jailbreak it with 4.4.4 . Any help would be appreciated, especially a walk through. Thanks!

Save your 4.4.4 signatures and then jailbreak on 5.3.

If you have a MAC and a new version of Seasonpass, you are set.
